The Cross Movement and Da' T.R.U.T.H. Nominated in Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album Category

Da T.R.U.T.H. Nashville, TN (Dec 7, 2007) - Cross Movement Records is pleased to announce that two of their artists, The Cross Movement and Da' T.R.U.T.H., have received nominations in the Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album category for the 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which will take place February 10, 2008 at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, Calif. The GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast live from 8:00-11:30 p.m. EST/PT on CBS in high definition TV and 5.1 surround sound. The Cross Movement is nominated for their latest project, HIStory: Our Place in His Story, while Da' T.R.U.T.H. is nominated for his new project, Open Book. For a full list of nominees, visit www.grammy.com.

"2007 marks the end of The Cross Movement's 10+ years of service in Christian hip-hop ministry, making this nomination a great farewell present," says The Cross Movement member John Wells (AKA The Tonic). "While we don't look to award shows to see if we're hitting the mark in ministry, we appreciate The Recording Academy for this acknowledgment."

"I'm truly honored to be nominated alongside gospel hip-hop pioneers and my mentors, The Cross Movement, for my album, Open Book, in the Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album category--a category established just last year--for the 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards," says Da' T.R.U.T.H. of his GRAMMY nomination. "It's exciting to see how far gospel rap has progressed with this recognition, and I'm hopeful that it will play a continued role in showing the world that this is truly a movement, ministry and genre."

On HIStory, GRAMMY and Dove Award-nominated hip-hop group The Cross Movement (consisting of members The Tonic, Phanatik, T.R.U.-L.I.F.E. and The Ambassador), takes their cue from the writer of Hebrews, who tells in chapter 11 about a host of people who faithfully played their role in the story being told by God, and stands to answer the call of the 12th chapter of Hebrews which says, "having such a great cloud of witnesses that have gone before us, let us run the race that is set before us." The group has been featured in national media including Time Magazine, The Washington Post, CCM Magazine and The Source Magazine. In addition to their GRAMMY Award nomination, The Cross Movement recently received a 2008 Stellar Award nomination in the Rap/Hip-Hop Gospel CD of the Year category.

Stellar Award winner and 2008 Holy Hip-Hop Award honoree Da T.R.U.T.H.'s Open Book project, which released this summer on Cross Movement Records, set a new record by securing the highest Soundscan/Billboard Chart debut for a gospel hip-hop artist when Open Book captured the #2 position on the Billboard Top Gospel Chart. The album also debuted at #1 on Soundscan's Christian R&B/Hip-Hop Chart and at #3 on the iTunes Christian & Gospel Chart. Open Book has delighted fans across a variety of genres according to Billboard's charts, debuting at #5 on the Contemporary Christian Chart, #6 on the Top Christian/Gospel Chart and #18 on the Rap Chart. The album's single, "Who Am I?" featuring Tye Tribbett, debuted at #9 on HipHopRnBSoul.com's Top 10 Hip-Hop Songs as the only gospel song on the chart, sandwiched between Kanye West's "Can't Tell Me Nothin'" and 50 Cent's "Amusement Park." Da' T.R.U.T.H. was also named one of the top "Movers and Shakers Under 40" this summer by Trumpet Magazine alongside Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick.

The Cross Movement's HIStory is available on Cross Movement Records and distributed in the CBA market by Provident-Integrity Distribution and by Sony/BMG in the general market. For more information on The Cross Movement and their album HIStory, visit www.crossmovementrecords.com.
